BOB Revolution Duallie Stroller in Navy Reviews

UPDATE: Now owned my BOB for one year and I STILL LOVE IT!!! It’s holding up fantastic, still turns on a dime, nothing broken, creaking, squeaking, ripped or faded. My kids totally beat it up (food, mud, markers) and it still looks almost brand new. I hose it off every once in a while and that does the trick.
First I want you to know that I have purchased or borrowed them all!!! I am my own mini consumer reports! LOL I have spent over 00 on bad strollers.
You name it, I’ve bought it or tried it. I have compared:
1) Graco Duo Rider tandem
2) The Peg Perego Duette (super expensive 0 and worst stroller ever made)
3) Peg Perego Aria Twin
4)Zooper twin side by side (not sure of the name)
5) Maclaren side by side
6) Phil&Ted double jogger that has the rear kid almost touching the ground (my kids HATED that) and after kid #2 is in back there is no basket room – are we joking?
7) Graco Duo Rider side by side
The BOB Revolution Duallie ROCKED THE HOUSE compared to all the above and here’s why….
First of all I have a HUGE 4 year old (46 lbs and 45 inches) and a medium sized but hefty 3 year old (26 lbs and 37 inches). I can NOT feel the weight of my children when I push them in the BOB!!!!! Parents, you realize how incredible this is. The stroller is easier to push than my single stroller! And I am not exaggerating. That was the first thing that got me because frankly I was not interested in a jogger. AND….get this… my 3 year old does not make the stroller pull to one side, even when he rides solo!!! I had such a problem with this in all the other strollers it was such a chore to push the kids that i didn’t take them anywhere. This was the case with each of the other strollers, but especially the case with the Graco Duo rider tandem and the Peg Perego Duette (both took an act of God to turn).
The other thing I love are the HUUUGE sun canopies, they are independent of each other and practially cover my children completely and since my kids hate direct sunlight this was a must, must, must.
Next I am sure you want to know how it turns….FANTASTIC! I strolled it all around the store when buying it and it could totally get in and out of isles without bumping everything off the shelves. This shocked me. And it does absolutely make it through doorways, a little tricky but it does. The only way to describe the way it turns is to quote my husband “it’s like butter”
It is seriously the smoothest ride ever!! I am so excited about it after going through so many strollers that were such a pain.
Also each seat gives my hefty children plenty of room width-wise which doesn’t make sense because they are almost the same dimensions as the others, magic I tell you. They don’t look scrunched at all. They HATED the McClaren side by side whatever-its-called, and I hated it too frankly. I was stuggling even in the store and my kids were begging to get out, so cramped very hard to push. I felt this way with the Peg Perego Twin Aria too and was shocked because I LOVE my Peg Pergo Pilko P3. First I could have sworn the Twin Aria was going to snap when I turned, extremely flimsy, and my then two year old was cramped and complaining.
That’s another thing about the Bob, that sucker is really solid. It is very well made and has stood the test of time. There is very little (if any) plastic used. EVERY other stroller mentioned above is made of a lot of plastic that was showing wear after a short period of time.
The shocks on the BOB are better than my car, I swear. It glides along and ever so slightly bounces up and down while you push as the movement of pushing is enough to send the shocks absorbing it. It’s not a nusance at all if that’s what your thinking, it actually makes pushing easier.
The under basket is not the best, but considering everything, they have made the most of it. Also there are two decent sized baskets on the back of each seat. I have not had any problems like I thought I would and I pack a change of clothes for each, lunch for three of us, dolls, power rangers, etc and I have always been good. I do HIGHLY recommend the handle bar console/cup holder. Without it I was lost. It stores my keys, phone, wallet and two water bottles.
As for the height of the seat area itself, my son only keeps growing taller (now 46 inches and counting) and he still fits with no complaints and believe me he would say something
Anyway, I hope this helps all your parents who are making the very stressful “perfect stroller” choice. Learn from my mistakes!
Also, I do wish I had initially purchased the fuzzy seat covers – mostly to protect the seats from the inevitable spills, squished PB&J sandwiches, etc.
If I had purchased this stroller two years ago, things would have been a lot different. I know this stroller will last me a looong time. I will never buy a small compact stroller again after this.

Strengths:
- Turns on a dime
- Sturdy construction
- Gives each child his/her own space
- Easy to fold – Large sun canopies
- Improved seat recline with 2007 model
Weaknesses:
- Hard to get things in the under-the-seat basket
- Could use more seat height
- Must manually reset shock setting for higher weights after folding
Summary:
Overall I am very pleased with the BOB Revolution Duallie Navy Stroller (2007 model).
Before making the purchase, I spent much time deciding between BOB and the less expensive Dreamer Design Ditto Manhattan Deluxe. Though I wanted to save money, I decided to go with BOB since I know and trust the brand. (We had a good experience with our first jogging stroller: a single BOB Sport Utility Stroller (SUS).)
My first impression of the Revolution Duallie was favorable. It is of the same high quality as my first stroller. However, I like the features on this stroller better than my original. The swivel wheels turn on a dime; whereas I found the fixed wheels on the SUS made it hard to turn. I also appreciate the improved level of seat recline with the 2007 model.
Though the Revolution Duallie does not have a hand brake – I read somewhere that hand brakes aren’t compatible with swivel wheels – I like the rear parking brake. It is very easy to engage and disengage. What’s more, I can engage the brake by pulling on the wrist safety strap. I expect that this will stop the stroller if I happen to slip while heading downhill. I do wish, however, that they’d find a way to put on a hand brake. It is rather difficult to manage the steep hills of Vermont with the weight of two children.
BOB does a great job of providing each child with his/her own space. I test “pushed” a few other double strollers and found that the kids were practically leaning on each other. In the Revolution Duallie, my son pretends he’s in his own little cave when the sun canopy is all the way down.
The stroller is very easy to fold, and the wheels are easy to take off and put on. I haven’t tried to put it in my trunk, but I did get it in our mudroom closet without problem. It has approximately the same folded dimensions as our single SUS, only it is wider. On that note, I was pleased to discover that it managed to fit through the door of my local post office (albeit, just barely).
The things I don’t like are relatively minor, but here goes. If your children collectively weigh more than 50 pounds, you have to manually move the shock setting. If you never have to fold the stroller this is not a problem. However, if you do fold the stroller, it automatically reverts back to the lower setting, meaning you must remember to reset it each time.
I have a very hard time getting anything thicker than a few books into the under-the-seat basket. The basket itself is big enough; the difficulty lies in getting items in there.
Finally, I wish the seat back were higher. My three-year-old son’s head almost touches the canopy, especially when it is upright. I do appreciate, however, that BOB provides a drawstring to pull up excess canopy fabric. This makes the most of the available headroom.
As for price, I found a very good deal online through a bicycle shop in Virginia. I paid 2.99 and received free shipping.

If I had purchased this stroller two years ago, things would have been a lot different. I know this stroller will last me a looong time. I will never buy a small compact stroller again after this.

I already have a single jogging stroller (not a BOB) and have been happy with it. We are in the process of adopting our second child, which we had less than 24 hours notice about, so a lot of money is going to legal costs, baby stuff, and my time off of work, and as a result I was concerned about spending this much on a stroller, but is was worth every cent. With the BOB Duallie, I am ecstatic, overjoyed, delighted, thrilled and looking forward to my next trip out.
For my first trip out, I put my 2 year old and 11 week old in and went for a six mile walk. The trip was so smooth, both kids slept for most of the time. The seats recline enough so that my baby is nearly flat, no problems with his head bobbing around (pardon the pun). The shocks give this stroller an incredibly smooth ride, which transits to less work for my arms. I didn’t realize how much effort went into the other stroller, pushing it and turning it. The smooth ride also allowed us to walk faster, a plus when trying to lose weight.
The stroller can turn in circles on itself, allowing for extremely sharp turns. Very nice, especially when inside a small store, like Starbucks. The windows up top are well placed enough that I can actually see my kid’s face, not just their little bodies. The straps are the easiest to adjust of any stroller I’ve used. There is extra padding along the shoulder straps to cushion the kid’s shoulders. The straps at the waist don’t come out of the sides, (this is kinda hard to explain) the strap is attached in the center of the seat, and the sides come around the child, more like a belt and allowing for a snugger fit. Even my 70 year old mother had a great time pushing the stroller.
As for the Mesa Orange, it is more like a burnt orange, with brown trim and I am very glad I got it! It is not at all like the neon orange it appears in some of the photos. Be sure to get the tray, I forgot to order it with the stroller. The storage is a little shallow, but being double wide, there is still plenty of room for stuff.

BOB Sport Utility Stroller Duallie in Pacific Blue Reviews

We bought this model over five years ago; the picture looks like they may have updated it a bit since that time.
We have loved our massive stroller. It is in excellent condition still despite nearly daily use. After five years of tipping over, being thrown into our car trunk, and slamming into countless door jams, it looks nearly new and is just barely starting to lose some of the foam grip. The tires were a little subpar for the price, but that’s the easiest thing to fix. The parking brake never worked at all–even after having a bike expert mess with it, we could never get it to lock in place even unloaded on a flat surface. The safety strap is very well made, and I recommend playing yo-yo with it when you walk up hills. Your kids will love it.
Kids are well protected from sun and light rain/snow with the canopy up, but it’s not much help in pouring rain. We haven’t tried the optional cover, so our kids are manly and wet. The harness is adjustable at several points and fit all our kids as soon as they were fit for public exposure and we can still comfortably secure our strapping kindergartener.
It is huge, but it fits in the tiny trunk of our Saturn sedan, so I’m sure it would fit in just about any car so long as you remove the wheels (takes 2 seconds once you are used to it).
The list of places this won’t go is long. I have lifted it over many gates at zoos and parks (usually with passengers), but it is quite heavy and I think it may be too much for a lot of moms. It does not fit in most public doorways, so it’s not ideal for running errands, and also you would destroy everything in your path if you tried to take it into a store (though the storage compartment under the seats is spacious and fairly accessible). I haven’t done too much trail running so I can’t comment on the fixed wheel being a hindrance; it’s not an issue for us, though you do have to take the occasional 3-part u-turn.
In conclusion, for running, trips to the park, or anywhere a really large stroller would be welcome, it is ideal, indestructible, and worth every cent. If I need to, I will buy a single at some point. I can’t imagine having to replace this one, though.

BOB makes an excellent product. The quality of the stroller was excellent. My only problem was the fixed wheel. The trails around my house are not straight therefore the stroller was difficult to turn. I got the BOB Revolution Dualie instead and I love it!!! The extra cost was worth it for me. It is the best stroller I have ever owned, and I have owned a lot!

BOB Ironman Sport Utility Stroller Duallie in Yellow Reviews

Background info:
-I bought this to use with my twin boys who were 8 months old and weighed 16 pounds at the time of purchase. My boys fit well in the Ironman Duallie.
-I’m 5′7 and run competitively from 5k to marathon distance – my normal pace for my typical 5-10 mile runs is in the 6:00’s (depending on the course).
Product info:
I was so exicited on my first run with the boys that I went out and did an 8 miler. My total time was only off by 6-8 minutes of what I normally run this course in without a stroller. Simple math would tell you that the BOB slows you down about a minute a mile – but that wasn’t necessarily the case for me. I was not able to run for the prior eight months, so my time was probably slowed more by my fitness level than the BOB Ironman Duallie.
This stroller has also taken over as the primary stroller for running errands around town.
Pros – the baby harnesses, the shade options, the parking brake, the running hand brake, the portability, the sturdy construction, the gear pockets (for you and the kids), and the height.
Cons – it took me several attempts to get the front wheel aligned so it went straight forward, and the push bar is a little low for some of my taller relatives (6′3″ and over).

I have owned and tried so many double strollers, and this is currently the best side-by-side on market for off-roading. I have used this one since my youngest was about 3 months old, and my oldest was 22 months. It’s their favorite double stroller.
We also have a Twin Aria (lightest), but can’t push it around our neighborhood sidewalks, as a bump in the sidewalk will startle both babies and me pushing (great for glass smooth floored malls, though). Also, bought and returned, the Tike Tech Trax360, that was easy to push on flat ground with the swivel tires, but was 40 pounds, and impossible to go up hills and scary to go down hills with no hand brake (we live in San Francisco, so get to test out on hills quite a bit). Also, have the Phil & Teds, which is fantastic.
Pros:
* Great for running
* Faster running pace, easier to operate (not true for other strollers)
* Gets across bumpy terrain easily
* Kid’s favorite color
* Sunshades are huge and come almost all the way down (no need for a Rayshade)
* Pockets for kids to put their stuff on sides of seats.
* Pockets on back of seats for parents’ stuff.
* Center of gravity is perfectly balanced for tilting and turning.
* Quality buckles that are easy to operate.
* Great suspension (no startling bumps).
* Kids say seats are comfortable.
Cons:
* More difficult to turn on slow walks (I just drag the front wheel instead of doing the tilt back and turn).
* Not apparent on how to use parking brake.
Keep in mind that you can’t have it all. I wanted swivel wheels, but then you have added weight and no hand brake which can be agonizing when going down hills.
The Ironman Duallie is great for running. I walk up to the top of Strawberry Hill in Golden Gate Park here in San Francisco, and run down fast with this stroller using the handbrake to slow the pace some. I feel my kids are safe, and they absolutely love the ride. The Phil & Teds Buggy also does this feat too but I can’t run as fast with that one because can’t run behind it (have to run to the side). My kids beam with joy in the Ironman Duallie stroller. When I ask my oldest which stoller should we take today, his answer is always “the yellow double stroller.” I use the Phil & Teds more often now because it’s so light, though, and I have bad wrists. The Phil & Ted’s is easlier for me to throw into the car and take out. I take the Ironman Duallie for special outings with kids, and use the Phil & Teds now as our daily stroller.
I haven’t figured out if and how to work the “parking brake” which is important, but just e-mailed BOB strollers, and sure I will hear a response soon. They are known wonderful customer service. Of course, I misplaced the instruction manual. There are storage pockets all over this stroller, so probably I put the manual in one of those (and lost it when folding it up as it could have slipped out).
Improvement ideas: 1) zipper pockets on back of seats for instruction manual, etc. 2) a slot dedicated for a tire pump. 3) Instructions for folding and parking brake should be printed right on stroller fabric.
Also need to order the double water bottle holder for handle bar as an essential assessory. If walk in rain, they also offer a double rain cover which we bought too, but of course, don’t have to go out in rain with stroller,so haven’t used but once.

BOB Handlebar Console For Duallie Strollers – Black Reviews

You have to have this for your Bob double stroller. I can’t imagine not having a place for my water bottles, cell phone, keys and money. It’s easy to put on, the black fabric doesn’t show dirt and it wipes clean quickly.

I tried this on a Tike Tech trax360 double jogging stroller, it was too small. I ended up giving back that stroller anyway so, I will be keeping it for my new BOB. The cup holders do seem pretty deep and I like the little change pocket.

BOB Infant Car Seat Adapter For Duallie Strollers Reviews

First, let me be clear in saying I LOVE the BOB strollers. We have a Revolution single, and now a Revolution Duallie AW, and they are outstanding products. High quality, excellent craftsmanship, and good-looking to boot. My girls ride in comfort & style, to be sure.
I also understand – to a point – the high price. Elite product, elite price. And there are certainly more expensive strollers out there.
That said… if I’m dropping close to 0 to buy a stroller, it ought to come with a freakin’ car seat adapter.
Okay, fine, it doesn’t. So I’ll buy it, otherwise I can’t use it with my newborn. Plus, otherwise, there is no tray. But ? Please. For what? worth of metal and plastic? Why not just fold it in to the price to begin with?? Same with the handlebar console. You can’t throw in a black canvas band with the purchase of the stroller itself?
Of course, I bought everything. The single console and car seat adapter for our single Revolution, and now the double console (for which I also wrote a review) and double car seat adapter.
I’m just thankful I don’t live somewhere rainy or I’d be grousing about the price of the weather thingy, too…
Oh and it took my husband (an engineer) about an hour to put the thing on, since he had already assembled the stroller. Apparently if you put it on during the stroller assembly you’ll save yourself a considerable amount of time…the manual for the stroller should indicate such, but does not.

This is a great product but does have some short comings…
The good: It does stay on when folding the stroller and it does not affect the collapsed size of the stroller; It is rugged and not much chance of it breaking.
The short comings: It does not fold up to load a toddler (not a big deal) nor does it remove quickly, it is designed to stay installed; The Graco car seats are compatible but the fit is not great.
We contacted BOB to inquire about the fit of the Graco and they told us that the Graco fits best out of any compatible car seats. We took the stroller to the store and tried other brands of car seats and I found that the Peg Pergo fit much better. The Graco seat clicks loosely onto the “Car Seat Adapter” but the real problem is that the foot end of the car seat wants to sit too low causing the baby to be much too upright. This problem could be crudely addressed with a thick blanket being put under the Graco car seat (in the BOB stroller) to support it. Just be very aware that the car seat does not click in with a nice snug fit like it would with the same brand stroller.
I do not plan on returning the “Car Seat Adapter” but if I can’t address the problem I may buy a Peg Pergo car seat. This stroller is that good!

BOB Revolution Stroller in Black Reviews

I just got my 2007 Revolution and I absolutely love it. My 19 month old gave it his seal of approval when he refused to get out of it the first time he went for a ride. If he even sees it, he wants in it!
The main differences between the 2007 and the 2006 are:
1. Increased seat recline of up to 70 degrees (earlier versions only recline to 45 degrees)
2. Increased back support on the seat back
3. Additional padding added to the seat
Quite frankly, these improvements weren’t a huge selling point for me. If my son was an infant, the increased seat recline might matter, but at his age he doesn’t want to recline at all.
The sun canopy is the biggest I’ve ever seen on a stroller. In the past I’ve had to put a blanket over the canopy to try and shield the sun from my son’s eyes, but this canopy solves that problem. It is huge!
As for maneuverability, the Revolution far surpasses any other stroller I’ve tried. It is a smooth, steady ride. I typically use the swivel feature, but the stroller is still great with the front wheel in the locked position.
The storage basket is fairly large for a jogger and is sufficient for the typical walk or jog. I did take this stroller to the mall today and, while it was incredibly easy to maneuver through the mall, the storage basket was not large enough for shopping and storing packages along the way.
It is very easy to fold and is fairly compact when it is folded, but it does not have a latching feature which makes picking it up a bit awkward. It’s not a huge deal to me, though, since I usually leave it open and ready to go in our garage (thank God for 3-car garages!).
I really like the 5 point harness and my son doesn’t mind being buckled into the seat. He seems very comfortable and snuggles right in as soon as I put him in. The “cup holders” inside the seat are nice, but he has a hard time getting his cups into them which tends to frustrate him. An older child may not have an issue with this, though.
The shock absorbers are really nice and work very well. We can “off road” in it and still have a nice smooth ride. If I hit an uneven area of pavement or branches/roots on the trail, it is barely noticeable.
Overall I am very happy with this stroller. And, more importantly, it got my son’s seal of approval.

Here is the summary of the reviews that I read on many websites and everyone seems to agree:
-”It looks great and I get tons of compliments.”
- “it is as close as you can get to an all in one stroller!”
- it’s a great jogging, mall, walking etc stroller
- it is not too big.
- but it is not too small (like a mall stroller that is usually is too light and good for a baby, but not very good and stable for a toddler).
- it folds up easy, but it doesn’t stand up while folded which is ok if you have enough space in your garage or house to store it.
- it takes 2 steps to fold it and a little strength to unfold (you kind of have to throw it).
- The suspension makes the roughest terrain smooth.
- “We take it everywhere from outdoors to the mall. It’s so smooth and turns on a dime. I recommend the beverage holder as well…it’s really handy.”
“Parents looking for a slightly lighter Revolution with a more compact fold (but less jogging potential) should check out the BOB Revolution 12″ AW, with three 12″ aluminum wheels instead of 16″ rear wheels. If you have two kids, or like having plenty of extra room, take a peek at the two seater BOB Revolution Duallie double stroller, which is also car seat compatible.”
Infant Car Seat Compatibility
# Fits Britax Companion
# Fits Graco Infant Safe Seat (Step 1)
# Fits Graco Snugride
# Fits Peg Perego Primo Viaggio
Car seat recommendations: Graco because it fits in almost every stroller/car seat adapter (Combi for example doesn’t fit in BOB stroller). Graco SnugRide is the most recommended because it’s light (usually about 7 lbs off the base) and it’s not big and will fit into the shopping cart also. Graco SafeSeat is good too but it’s heavier and much bigger (longer). Yes, SafeSeat model fits larger babies and you probably can use it for longer than SnugRide, but would you want to carry a 30 pound baby (+ 9 lbs car seat) around? Probably not. So I suggest use SnugRide till baby is 22 lbs (your baby should be about 7-12 months old, each baby is different) and then switch to a convertible or toddler seat which hold a baby from 22 lbs up to about 60 lbs. You can put your 6 months old baby directly into the stroller without the car seat. Snuzzler will make your baby very comfortable and happy too
Changes to the BOB Revolution for 2007:
*New colors
*Increased seat recline to 70 degrees off vertical
*More seat padding
Recommended extras (all have no less than 4.5 star reviews):
* infant car seat adapter (look for one with tray)
* Snuzzler (Kiddopotamus & Co Snuzzler Complete Head And Body Support For Any Seat)
* handlebar console
* weather shield revolution (if it rains or snows often when you have your baby).
* If you plan to travel often also get the “BOB Stroller Travel Bag Black”
“Bottom Line: The BOB Revolution strikes the ideal balance between a walking stroller and a jogging stroller. It weighs a bit more and has less storage than most travel system strollers, but good luck taking one of them out for a jog – or even over some dirt trails. With the Revolution, you can manage any terrain with total ease, and it has a one-of-a-kind adjustable tracking system for jogging. Altogether, you have one of the best all-purpose strollers ever produced.”
